On October 5th, 2006, in Warsaw during the Infrastruktura 2006 International Fairs, the competition of the Minister of Transportation was adjudicated in four categories: Roads, Materials for Highway Engineering, Road Traffic, and Construction Equipment and Machinery. Slag Recycling participated in the competition and won the main award for its metallurgical and syenite grits for mineral-asphalt mixtures used in SMA pavements. The organisers of the competition emphasised the very good parameters of Slag Recycling’s grits, which have a significant effect on safety and a shorter braking distance.

The awards ceremony took place in the Lecture Theatre of the Warsaw University of Technology. The award given by the Minister of Transportation, Jerzy Polaczek, was picked up on behalf of Slag Recycling by Renata Ród.
